                                                     REAL WOOD vs. THERMOFOIL


    There are 2 types of cabinet refacing......REAL WOOD and THERMOFOIL (aka laminate, Deco-form or polymer). We offer both types of cabinet refacing. The main differences between the 2 types is real wood refacing looks much nicer, but costs more........laminate refacing costs less, but it is more durable (will not fade or discolor and can be cleaned with mild soap and water).


                    REAL WOOD CABINET REFACING

   For clients who want real wood cabinet refacing we have many wood species, door styles and finishes to choose from. The real wood species we offer are Alder, Ash, Birch, Cherry, Maple, Hickory, Lyptus, Red Oak, White Oak and Walnut. We have are many different finish options available including hand-wiped finishes, sprayed-on finishes, solid colored spray-painted finishes (conversion varnish paint), glazed finishes and low VOC water-based finishes. We have color block samples to show interested clients. We get our real wood materials from Walzcraft (www.Walzcraft.com).                                       THERMOFOIL CABINET REFACING

   For customers who want thermofoil cabinet refacing we have over 30 colors and over 50 door styles to choose from. We get all of our thermofoil (Deco-form) doors, and refacing materials, from Decorative Specialties (www.decore.com). Whether you want solid colors like White, or Antique White, or wood grain colors like Maple, Oak, or Cherry, you will be amazed at the quality of the finishes and door styles available from Decorative Specialties. Most people are surprised when we show them the quality of our thermofoil doors......many people mistake them for real wood. Thermofoil doors have improved greatly over the last 10 years.
